Bizarre Forklift Break-In Foiled by A-SAFE Barriers

Thieves broke into the warehouse and hijacked a forklift truck, aiming to ram raid the vending machines. Their efforts hit a bump when they realised the vending machines on-site were behind a barrier. With proper workplace traffic management and pedestrian-vehicle segregation in place, the vending machines were located in a pedestrian zone, safely behind a barrier.
Undeterred, the thieves proceeded to ram the barrier with the forks of the truck, hitting it repeatedly with head-on blows. Forklift trucks weigh approximately 3 to 4 tonnes and at ramming speed could reach 8 mph, generating a significant impact force of around 25,000 joules.
We were pleased to learn that thanks to our advanced, high performance polymer technology, the Pedestrian 3-Rail post stood its ground superbly, taking the force of every impact and dispersing it through the material to prevent damage to the concrete floor. If this were a conventional steel barrier under such extreme force, the fixings and flooring would undoubtedly have been ripped-up and the barrier destroyed.
Their plan foiled, the thieves dumped the forklift and ran, leaving the vending machines unharmed and only superficial damage to one barrier post.
